Our Response to COVID-19

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 2 Samuel 22:31

As concerns increase this week surrounding the coronavirus, Calvary Baptist Church is committed to doing whatever we can to provide a safe environment for you and your family.

God has not given us a spirit of fear. Instead, He has called us to love our neighbors and to contribute to the welfare of our community. Exercising caution is not merely wise, but it is a tangible way of expressing love toward others.

Until further notice we are suspending our church gatherings and activities. This has been a hard decision for us. And while we are saddened to not meet together in our church building, we have been guided by two principles. First, honoring our governing officials, who have urged extreme caution. And secondly, loving our neighbors, many of whom are particularly vulnerable.

We are actively discussing the best ways to love both our community and our people in this time. We recognize that this is a fluid situation with constant new information and updates. While we do not know what will happen as this situation changes, we do know that we can, and must, pray. Ask God, in His mercy, to stem the tide of this growing pandemic. Pray that those who are called to address this crisis would be equipped to handle new cases with wisdom and compassion. Pray that we as Calvary Baptist Church would lead the way in exhibiting a spirit of trust in God and love for others.

If you have any questions about Calvary’s procedures, you are welcome to contact the church office. If we can be of any assitance, please let us know.
